Description de l'emploi

Head of the Department for ‘Volunteering and European Development’ at Surfrider Foundation Europe

About Surfrider Foundation Europe (www.surfrider.eu):

Surfrider Foundation Europe (SFE) is one of the main European NGOs and has been officially approved for its work on environmental protection and education of the public. Its mission is the defence, maintenance, enhancement, and sustainable development of the oceans, waves, coastlines, and the population that benefits from these throughout the territory of the European Union. Surfrider Foundation Europe has been accredited by the United Nations. It is a member of Surfrider Foundation International, of the federation France Nature Environnement, and of the European association of non-governmental environmental organisations Seas at Risk.

Surfrider Foundation Europe’s members come from a variety of backgrounds, but they are united in their passion for the ocean and in their desire to protect the coastlines. Surfrider’s action programmes focus on the protection and enhancement of the environment, and on education and the raising of awareness in schoolchildren and the general public alike.

SFE’s work is organised through its Head Office based in Biarritz (France), its four territorial offices responsible for project implementation (Marseille, Brest, Bordeaux, San Sebastian), its two additional offices charged with the coordination of the lobbying campaigns (Paris and Brussels), and its 40 voluntary chapters spread over 12 European countries. Almost 10,000 members and 150,000 sympathisers support our actions and our cause.
